You helped me bring my life back into balance

“Somehow in my busy world, I forgot what is was that mattered to me.  You have helped me to recognize my own value and accomplishments and helped me realize why I was feeling so poorly.  You helped me bring my life back into balance. I had no idea that your guidance in finding the right career for me would turn into being such a “life experience”.  Being a child of the 60’s, I thought that could only be found with the guidance of Timothy Leary. Thank you again for all you have done for me.”

He is very, very good at what he does

I went to him after going to other career counselors. It was an outstanding experience. He is very, very good at what he does. I have referred many people to him over the years. You’ll be lucky to have him.”

Bud Inzer was fascinated with the human spirit long before he knew what to call it. Even as a young boy, he looked beyond the surface of things. He enjoyed learning about the humor, hopes, and talents of others. He seems most himself when listening, laughing and discovering.

As a child of a Navy pilot, he spent the first half of his life growing up on the move — moving from state to state often in the middle of the school year. He learned that despite his sense of loss and fear he could step into new environments with curiosity and humor. Looking back, he realizes that many of the best things that have come to him in life, have come unexpectedly and without plan.

His most meaningful education has come circuitously from living rather than from a formalized curriculum — schooled more by experience and by ideas found outside the prescribed circle. Bud has been more of a wanderer and seeker than specialist. Some of his explorations have been dismal failures, others delightful surprises.

In search of his own calling, Bud met an extraordinary woman and seasoned career counselor who took him under her wing and mentored him. She recognized his talent for working with people and invited him to dive in as a counselor of a well-established career center — and he did. He felt at home assisting others and realized that often he could be of help. He found what the poet William Blake might call, his firm persuasion — that thing that one does that is right for himself and good for the world.

Bud brings to his work an evolving expertise, heart, humor, non-judgmental support, and soul. He loves the process of generating fresh perspectives, revealing new possibilities and seeing clients walk toward new horizons. Bud sees his role more as a guide and kindred spirit than an authority — offering an invitation rather than canned advice.

In addition to creating WayFinding Career Services, he has developed and delivered over 26 seminars, led a three-day corporate retreat, authored several articles, delivered talks to university and high schools students, counseled veterans and was interviewed on cable TV and radio. He is the author of “110 Tips for Waking Up Your Passion for Life and Work.”
